Hello All,I have searched almost all of the net and even asked the master dragongodz (doom9.org) about this error.I recently just got back into DVD ripping and also encoding.I use DVDx and Smart Ripper. I had no problems before (last year) but recently I got a new Drive and have had this error everytime I try using DVDx2.3.' Mpeg2dec: Error during seeking input file'I have set up DVDx exactly like how I used to when it worked. Now it just gives me this error. Mpeg2dec: Error during seeking input fileI am stuck on a project. Also, all the movies I'm ripping are owned by us so there is no conflict.Admin, I have searched numerously on this board for answers but came up short.

That's why I posted.I'm using DVDx2.3 and have set it up as the guides show.I was thinking I just recently got into Xvid codec, do you think that can be the problem.I'm very close to buying a new drive just to see if that is the problem.Anyone who can help, I appreciate it. Maybe Try updateing the Version of AVISynth and the Mpeg2Dec.dll file that DVDx is useing.The Latest version of AVISynth uses the 'Mpeg2Dec3.dll File.Or maybe Just Forget useing DVDx and just use AVISynth and your Mpeg encoder and do it manually which Is What I do.I rip the DVD with Smartripper and then use DVD2AVI to make a D2V project File and then I use AVISynth to Frameserve the D2V file useing the Mpeg2Dec3.dll Plugin to my Mpeg encoder which Is 'CCE SP 2.70' but you can also use Tmpgenc or Procoder or the MainConcept encoder.Well Good Luck. I did download it from AVS site. When I copied it over to the DVDx folder, I got the same error. 'mpeg2dec: Error during seeking input file'Is there a specific way for me to install mpeg2dec.dll?

I run into this problem occasionally, mostly with multi-disc DVD sources. I use 2 different DVD to Mpeg converters, and all will encounter this same error for problem discs. I've run trial demos on at least 25 other converters, most fail and ironically the few that work produce inferior results. Save your time trying that route.The solution that works? First off, it's free!
Typically, a simple Re-authoring of the DVD with DVD shrink will succeed. For more stubborn DVDs, a more complex Re-authoring process is needed. In this situation, I'll set up the same DVD in the project window twice as if combining DVDs. I then adjust the start frame from the first title to a few frames from the end and combine. You will most likely not be compressing and therefore not sacrificing quality of source.

Back-up to hard drive and when opening with converter select the 2nd main root cell. This procedure has succeeded on most DVD.But, on occasion, the VERY problematic DVD requires yet more work.

For DVDs that fail to this point, a combination of DVD Shrink, DVDFabDecrypter & FreeDVD have ultimately proved successful, even for the DVD that's driven me to drink (excuses, excuses, lol). I'll Re-author (simple)the DVD with DVD Shrink to hard drive, run FreeDVD to remove encryptions, then copy the DVD to a new folder with Fab. Once again, I'll use DVD Shrink and set both DVDs (1st DVD shrink simple & Fab copy) in project window and use same process of combining as in example above. The result has yet to fail, but obviously requires adequate hard drive space and one hell of dogged determination to succeed.For conversion, I use 1Click DVD to Mpeg. Best results of the many I've tried.
I also have Xilisoft DVD Ripper, and above process will work with that when it ultimately works with 1Click. I assume the same will hold true for most other converters. Hi there im pleased im not the only dumb dumb who struggles to convert and copy disks if your no good at reading error reportsand tackling problems I suggest like the fellow above use dvd shrinkto encode your movies dont rip them on the fly store them on your hard drive and then use what ever you want to burn the filesive had no problems what so eva with dvd shrink and the one timeI did i just banged it on vcd instead tmpg 3.2 is very easy touse to convert them downloaded mpg files to dvd thank god theressimple software out there.
If anyone knows why my nero will onlyrun at 1x ( id be happy for some help ive ran a drive test and it comes up 6x which is ok as im on a pent3 700mhz but when i burn i only get the option of 1x ive updated nero and also downloadedaptedecs 4.7 aspi package still no joy anyone got any ideasthe burners lite on dvd.
Streaming small d2v models from s3 bucket works fine. Simply insert the s3 address into model.load.
However, when the model gets bigger and is split into multiple files all files except the main model file cannot be loaded. That a single file is a little bigger, with pickle overhead, than the separate files isn't alone something to be concerned about. (Though as I noted previously, I believe single-file pickling breaks at some size around 2-4GB, even on 64bit Pythons.)That even separately= results in multiple files may be an issue with the refactorings into subsidiary objects not adopting any separately settings from the container - that might be an inadequacy in the refactoring work, or an inherent ambiguity in how it should be handled with recursive SaveLoad.save operations. As described in the original post I serve the model on an AWS lambda. I cannot stream the model from an s3 bucket when the model files are split due to a bug. Therefore I try to save the model in a single file. However, aws lambdas only have 512 mb diskspace which is not sufficient for me.
Therefore I have tried to use deletetemporarytrainingdata and then save the model but that leads to even bigger files. Is there another way to achieve smaller model files? I do not need to continue training but I need infervector? Deletetemporarytrainingdata is kind of a confused method, which with its defaults barely saves anything. But it should never make a model larger. (So, if you're seeing that, it may have been caused by something else.)If you're never going to look up the vectors for those doc-tags supplied during training (as would happen for any model.docvecs.mostsimilar operation), and are just using re-inferred vectors somewhere else, then you might be able to delete the model.docvecs.vectorsdocs property without ill effect.

If there were a lot of unique doctags in the training set, that might make a noticeable dent in model size.If you're using plain DBOW mode during training ( dm=0, dbowwords=0), then the word-vectors inside the model aren't really used, in training or later - so you might be able to delete the model.wv.vectors property without ill effect. (Or maybe even delete model.wv entirely, though it might still be consulted for maintaining the output layer, especially in negative-sampling models). But there could be problems with these approaches - test carefully in your setup – as the code hasn't consistently been designed/tested with such post-training minimization in mind. I think you mean load, as there's no load-from-file constructor. But, what were the file sizes before and after? And, what if you try re-saving to a new filename before deletetemporarytrainingdata, and then a third filename after? (I suspect you may see the same expansion in the re-save, because it's something else that's causing it, perhaps a patching-up of an older/partial model upon load.
And then the post-'delete' save would save a tiny amount of space, as would be expected from its defaults of not-deleting-hardly-anything.)In my opinion the method shouldn't exist at all. This need isn't common-enough, or sufficiently well-supported, to justify a tempting public method. If some hatchety-with-lots-of-caveats tricks for shrinking models are important for some users, those could be documented-with-disclaimers elsewhere – maybe an 'advanced tricks' notebook, or other findable help resource.OTOH, if such minimization is important enough to be a tested/supported feature of the models, then a larger, competent, refactoring would be justified, where the code/objects are cleanly split into the various parts needed for different steps/end-uses.
