Rebuilt C4 Automatic Transmission. The C4 3-speed automatic was Ford's first truely all-Ford designed and built automatic transmission. Borg-Warner did most of Ford's automatic transmissions prior to that. From 1964-66 the C4 was a dual-range automatic transmission but was then ditched in 1967 to accomedate the more traditional P-R-N-D-2-1 shifting pattern. Professional built C4's using a 26/26-spline shaft was said to withstand up to 600 horsepower and the corresponding torque.Make - FordLength - 27.8'Gearing (Automatic, C4) - First Gear - 2.46: 1 (3 Speed).
