It seemed that the replies focused on an airport version of the model 70. Well, here's the tractor in living color and it's definitely not a model 70. Looks like a Super 55 to me, would that seem to be a good guess?
And the ID plate is shown as well, model number on top and serial number below it. The first part of the serial number shows it to be maybe a late 1950's version like 1957. The model number is interesting, and so is the last part of the serial number. Definitely not based on a 70 for sure. I can't find anything at all on the web regarding this, some stuff and photos did show up for the 70 (or 70-25) airport model.scootergmcRegularJoined: 30 Mar 2015Posts: 384Posted: Sat Aug 31, 2019 7:32 am Post subject: Re: OLIVER 25 UPDATE. I have some photosThat's a super 55. The model number has no significance to the actual tractor model.rrlundTractor GuruJoined: 21 Dec 2006Posts: 41577Posted: Sat Aug 31, 2019 8:14 am Post subject: Re: OLIVER 25 UPDATE.
I have some photosAll that info we gave for nothing. LOLCrazy HorseTractor GuruJoined: 27 Oct 2007Posts: 3811Posted: Sat Aug 31, 2019 8:36 am Post subject: Re: OLIVER 25 UPDATE. I have some photosWell, not for nothing boys. Look at all the stuff I learned.
And you get a good feeling for providing the info. And everyone is happy. Now that's not for nothing. So in a nutshell, any Super 55 tractor would/could probably have a similar ID plate with numbers like that on the plate in my photo for model ID. Is that correct?rrlundTractor GuruJoined: 21 Dec 2006Posts: 41577Posted: Sat Aug 31, 2019 8:52 am Post subject: Re: OLIVER 25 UPDATE.
I have some photosCorrect. Those model numbers on the tags of Oliver tractors aren't consumer friendly. You're correct too with that serial number being a 1957.I think we all learned something from that long thread about the 25s.
Even that article that I referenced didn't come right out and say that the Airport version didn't use the pads. You had to read between the lines where it said the Industrial had threaded holes and the Airport was based on the Standard (Which didn't have pads with threaded holes).J. I have some photosFor the 1957 models improvements and changes changed the model number from 15 to 25.

I sent you an e-mail, did you receive it? 518 are the numbers for the transmission code.Crazy HorseTractor GuruJoined: 27 Oct 2007Posts: 3811Posted: Sun Sep 01, 2019 6:18 am Post subject: Re: OLIVER 25 UPDATE. I have some photosYes, I did reply last night with my phone number via regular email. So the 'Super 55' is one way of identification but there are obviously others, like model 15, 25, etc right?rrlundTractor GuruJoined: 21 Dec 2006Posts: 41577Posted: Sun Sep 01, 2019 1:10 pm Post subject: Re: OLIVER 25 UPDATE. I have some photosI wouldn't refer to it as anything other than a Super55. Nobody would ever know what you were talking about.
I suppose some 90 year old parts person might, one time in your life ask you if you know the model number on the tag if there was two choices for a part, but you're about 10,000 times more likely just to be asked for the serial number if there are two choices with a serial number split. Like I said, those model numbers on the tags really weren't meant to be used by the consumer.scootergmcRegularJoined: 30 Mar 2015Posts: 384Posted: Sun Sep 01, 2019 2:06 pm Post subject: Re: OLIVER 25 UPDATE. I have some photosNo, it's just a Super 55.
As has been said, the serial number will help further identification but it's not an Oliver model 15 or 25 or whatever.Brad MetcalfLong Time UserJoined: 07 May 2012Posts: 724Posted: Mon Sep 02, 2019 10:00 am Post subject: Re: OLIVER 25 UPDATE. I have some photosWhat John is referring to is the Specification number being 15 or 25 all this means is 15 is the 1st version of the 55 tractor nand 25 is the 2nd this works for all the Super and 3 digit tractors ie Super 77 would be 17 or a 27 770 wouls 37Crazy HorseTractor GuruJoined: 27 Oct 2007Posts: 3811Posted: Mon Sep 02, 2019 11:20 am Post subject: Re: OLIVER 25 UPDATE. I have some photosI don't know what you mean by '3.' I know specification numbers identify models, but it really has nothing to do with the marketed model's namesake. That's what I was referring to if there's any confusion.
Perhaps I could've worded it better.Brad MetcalfLong Time UserJoined: 07 May 2012Posts: 724Posted: Mon Sep 02, 2019 12:16 pm Post subject: Re: OLIVER 25 UPDATE.
